Save The Tiger – Your Support is Needed

There are a lot of things kids can do to save endangered species. But adults can also play a part too. There has been an effort to keep tigers from becoming extinct, and much of the efforts of conservationists have not been in vain. However, for any endangered species to survive, it needs more than just a few hundred concerned individuals. It needs young adults and children to be aware; business people to be conscious and caring; and it needs funds from anyone willing to share.
There is the Save The  Tiger fund which aims to keep tigers living safely in the wild. It began in 1995 and a few other conservationist groups have followed and put up their own organization. You can choose from any of these organizations as long as you confirm their authenticity before sharing what you have with them.

Some of the concerns being addressed for the tigers are conservation, management of habitat, food sources, poaching and protection, tiger ecology, and getting the locals to be more active in saving the tigers.

Again, the problem with wild tigers as with any other endangered species is human. We are the ones killing our animals and trees. We are encroaching on their homes and not giving them alternatives. We are getting their food sources and not replacing it. We are tainting their waters and not cleaning up. They are not under threat from predators unless it is something we instigated by depleting the food sources of predators who turn to tigers for food.

By doing nothing, we are contributing to the problem. This does not mean having to travel to jungles and far-flung areas to help conservationists.  Talking about the problem, going green, voting the right people into office – all these are ways you can help without even donating money. It’s not just about money. More important is the time you spend talking to others about it and living the right green lifestyle so that there is less polluting the water, air, and land.

Learning about the nature of animals is a very amazing experience for kids. It is a right of every child to learn and interact with animals. However, in this fast developing age, even seeing animals is slowly becoming only a privilege for the children. While there are still so many animals that are not yet endangered in the world, the children must already engage to fun activities involving animals while they still can.

Now that spring break has arrived, some animal education programs for kids have been busy tending animals. They have been incubating eggs and hatching chicks. Also, they have been feeding lambs that are rejected by their mother through bottle-feeding. There have been activities to help animals give birth and raise their offspring. Other programs are also developing their own online animal programs. The site features information about different kinds of animals. Another organization that aims to raise awareness to people about animals and to help animals is the Save-A-Pet organization. This is a non-profit organization that wants to save animals from suffering and cruelty by educating people about animals. Children are the fastest learners and are still very excited about animals compared to the elder people that are why educating them is the best thing to do.

Animal education programs aim to educate the children while their minds are still fresh and they are still enthusiastic on learning about animals. So, to let your child be more knowledgeable about animals, let them join an educational program near your home.

Educating Children on Saving the Planet

If the greenhouse emission that this generation produce will increase, climate change will become worse every day until there will be no planet left for the next generation to live on. This is why, educating children on endangered species is very important. Children should already be taught how important it is to lessen the carbon footprints or the greenhouse emissions. The children are the future of the world and no one else will save it but them. This is why they should be thought how important it is to recycle. They should also be educated on developing renewable energy.

They should be educated on how to conserve energy, reduce waste production and save the natural resources of the planet. They should be aware of these things so that in their own little ways, they can already save the planet.


Even in little ways they can already start saving the planets by doing alternatives to some of their daily activities. Almost everything that people do in their day-to-day activities emits greenhouse gas, produce carbon dioxide and consume energy. Almost all appliances and technologies that people use also do the same, from the refrigerators, transportations to other technologies that make life easier. These things emit substances to the atmosphere.

The atmosphere is responsible for the maintenance of the Earth’s temperature. The greenhouse gas emissions caused by humans may exceed the limitations of the atmosphere and this will affect the entire planet. It is already evident in the climate change that is going on in the planet now.

Climate change can still be avoided with a ten decade window, according to James Hansen, NASA’s top climate scientist. He said if this no action will be done to prevent this then, the world as we know it will be gone.

Discussions have been conducted in global climate summits, but they have not reached an agreement and no actions have been done yet. It is not up to the leaders to save the planet though; it is the duty of the entire human race to save its habitat. And in their own simple ways, they can do something to make this world a better place to live in.

This is why everyone should participate in saving the planet, especially the children. Gaylord Nelson, former Governor of Wisconsin, launched the first Earth day on April 22 1970. This event aims to educate everyone how to save the planet and how important it is to save the planet. The youth are the major catalyst for this movement. This event will raise the awareness of the people about the “health” of the planet, and what actions must be taken to heal it or keep it healthy.

Through this movement, students are being educated in their school on carbon footprint analysis, carbon offsetting, and other green curriculum, that will teach them how to live their lives in a way that will be safe and beneficial to the planet. There are green school programs that make this kind of education available for the children. This is one big move to save the planet.
